The Juvenile Section of the Manchester Police Department consist of one full time, and six part time officer. All officers have been trained and are certified D.A.R.E. instructors. In June of 2003, all officers will undergo training in the newest D.A.R.E. curriculum.

Our dedicated officers support the entire Manchester Township School District , which currently has an enrollment of 3000 students. Officers teach the D.A.R.E program in three Elementary Schools, one Middle School, and one High School. The teaching program ranges from two weeks and up to seventeen weeks for the 5th Grade Curriculum.

In addition to teaching, our officers are responsible for all follow-up criminal investigations involving juveniles. They are required to maintain a close liaison with the school administration, teachers, counselors, and staff, who provide important feedback as to concerns of the students and parents.

These officers are also proud to be affiliated and participate with  such professional organizations as The New Jersey State D.A.R.E. Officers Association, Ocean County Juvenile Officers Association, and the Manchester Township Juvenile Justice Committee.
