"COMPUTERS HAVE NOW BECOME ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOLS A POLICE OFFICER USES"
Manchester Police Communications Personnel can instantly disseminate critical information, to either one or all officers right to the patrol car, via a computer link.

DIVISION MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Computer Division of the Manchester Police Department is charged with maintaining the departments computer systems, so that information can be entered, stored, and retrieved at a moments notice .

Just as the Patrol Division is the backbone of the Police Department, the Computer Division is ultimately the Central Nervous System, providing vital information to all sections of the department, so that critical decisions can be made in providing the best public safety available to our citizens.

The officers assigned to this section maintain both the hardware and software used by the officers and our civilian support personnel.

The Internet has now provided an opportunity for the Police Department to interact with its citizens. Allowing a service that was only imaginable to the COP (Constable On Patrol) of yesteryear.

As technology changes, so must Law Enforcement. Our officers must be ready to thwart any criminal challenge faced via the Internet to our children and senior citizens.
